thanks people. I use eudora on my lc. I'm a little confused about the
memory. Been so long since I bought the machine I've forgotten how much
memory it has. Took the 39 megs from "about this computer". I just remember
buying enough to double or quadruple what the original had but have long
since forgotten. I never have any luck downloading anything since I don't
really know how. Everyone keeps saying how easy it is , just follow
instructions, but it never works for me. Downloaded net. 4.7. Took about an
hour, then I got a warning that the file couldn't be opened because it was
corrupted. Figured it was too new for my system, although, try as I may, I
couldn't figure out from the netscape site what I should be downloading.
It's my spare computer I have at another place. It's one of those that was
hit by the millennium and 3.1 netscape keeps giving me the translation
warnings and crashing. I like to think an net. upgrade would help. Or i.cab
for that matter, but I won't be able to try until the weekend. For someone
who produces several newspaper pages a day while running four or five
programs, I know astonishingly little about how these things work. Often
thought if I'd ever been able to take a course on the basics it would all be
easier. cheers, jim
