Hi Jim, lots of people have responded to your query so I'll try not to
repeat what they said.
One thing to keep in mind is that the MP3s (actually, they're AACs*)
you buy are files that you purchase ONCE through the iTunes program.
*Apple doesn't use "MP3s" for their protected formats--they use
something called AAC, which, although similar, is not compatible with
MP3 players. The only "MP3" player that will play Apple's AACs is the
iPod series. MP3 and AAC are both file formats that you can use to
store music and other miscellaneous audio files.
PS You cannot re-download the files from Apple's store once you did so
the first time so it is important that you make sure that you back-up
the files to CD, DVD, or some other storage medium.
You are allowed to burn the AACs as tracks on a regular audio format
CD (maybe 3 times if I remember correctly), playable in any CD player.
They sound nearly as good as regular CDs (Note: you do not need the
special "audio" CD-Rs that so many companies sell you--usually any old
CD-R will do)!
If you'd like to "try before you buy", double-click on the song to
listen to 30 second snippets, or download the "freebie" from the main
iTunes Music Store page in the iTunes Music Store browser.
Happy listening.
Eric.
