I belong to 2 Commercial Printers' forums and though the group abhors  
vendors and consultants , nearly to the point of paranoia (because we  
talk about them too), there are those consultants/vendors who do wait  
for other memers (printers) to reply to a problem, but failing any  
resolution, will speak up and offer alternate solutions.

Sometimes a vendor will suggest ways to avoid purchase of products they  
sell and this often gains greater respect for them, simply because it  
appears that all answers are not necessarily 'out of pocket' and that  
vendor becomes the "go-to-guy or gal" for other purchases.
