How are you going to sign up with AT & T if they don't (can't)  
operate in Canada. If they could Apple would have simply sold iPhones  
in Canada & extended their agreement with AT&T.
The iPhone uses GMS system, as used in 90% of the world other than  
Canada. Rodgers is the Only GMS service in Canada at the moment,  
although Telus announced this week that they are going to switch soon.
