When my son was in Afghanistan with the Canadian army, we used Skype 
on many occasions for our free video phone talks. He used a PC 
computer with Windows, and I used my Mac  with OSX and we never had a 
problem. We would coordinated a conference time by email, and away we 
went...Doug
