One of the best ways is using a Firewire Cable between the two & use
"Target Mode" at start up on the new one; see Help middle top of
screen for how to do it. As to keeping them synched I use a .Mac
account, but I'm sure there are other ways.

I'd like a finite answer to this too as I tried copying iPhoto & iWeb
to my laptop with Firewire, but I got poor results.
