Well, I've got a 60GB iBook and a 160GB external. I used to have the
latter partitioned into three volumes: 50GB apiece for a historical and
a current backup of the not nearly full iBook, and rest dedicated to
photo storage. But with Leopard, CS3 and so on, I now need 60GB for a
current backup, and Time Machine gobbles up everything else. So my
historical backup (two years old) and all my photos have gone (twice)
to DVD storage. When I finally break down and buy a bigger external,
though, I'm going to put them back on that; I don't totally trust DVDs
for longevity.
