AAC is Apple's format. You can only get an AAC file if you buy using
iTunes. This is a legal purchase.
To convert it, you need to be aware of iTunes settings. First set
iTunes to burn AAC files as AIFF files (regular audio) to an audio CD.
Then change the iTunes settings to convert audio to MP3. Voila.
All perfectly legal and paid for. At 99 cents a track it is pretty reasonable.
