David,
One that won't break the bank is the Canon ZR850. It is about 350
bucks, is virtually idiot proof and uses both SDcard and tape.
However, tape is the only way to go if you plan on going fire wire
directly into I-movie. If you go to the nearest Apple store, it will
be the camera that they use for their demos for I-movie. Happy hunting!
