various svga monitors with no problems.. just a little fiddling with

no, they didn;t.
And i got fed up with compustupid bc I bought the adapter there, and 
you;d think they could have went and looked if they had a manual with 
the other adapters...
seems they're too busy to be helpful after they sell you things.

hmm, these are potentially good suggestions that I didn;t try. I took 
the monitor back. $650 is too much to spend and not get even a bit of 
help after the sale. It was very frustrating. When I venture out to 
buy another flat panel, it won;t be from compustupid!

that's the thing... SVGA in 640 x 480
seems anything higher was XGA, which perhaps was the problem

yes, you'd think.


I didn't realize when I bought the flatpanel from CS, that they 
wouldn;t offer any help after they sold it to me. When I took it 
back, they seemed surprised.
The frustrating part is not that they are clueless about macs (most 
computer stores are), but it is their attitude of mac knowledge that 
they pretend to have, that frustrates me. If they'd just admit they 
don;t know, fine. But this attitude of "we know it'll work" and then 
at the first trouble, offering no help, bouncing me from salesperson 
to salesperson and then tech to tech, with no more offered from each 
than "it should work" ... well, I just wish they'd admit they are 
clueless. Then they were surprised I brought it back. Jeeez.

One good thing I did get from CS was a D-Link PCMCIA ethernet card 
for $24 that works with Newton... if anyone around here uses Newton. 
The 2000/2100 units are quite reasonablely priced these days, and 
they're much handier than a laptop and much more versatile (IMO). But 
of course, CS didn't know the cards would work with Newton, I found 
that out on my own bf I bought one. (in fact, CS said they wouldn't 
work).

Anyway. Think I am gonna wait till LCD prices come down a bit, and 
then buy one from a better, more mac knowledgeable, source. (of 
course have to wait till I can save the $$, instead of buying with 
compustupid's revolving credit/no interest thing-- I'd trade no 
interst for some post-sale help anyday, since this experience!).
