Hi Jim,
Biggest advantage is the angle of view, which essentially means that it 
appears to be a bigger & certainly a clearer picture than a regular CRT 
screen. Prices are dropping rapidly, starting at about $500 for 15" and 
$6-700 for a 17-19" and up from there. I recommend waiting a few months 
as prices are due to drop further quite soon. Computer Liquidations on 
Horton have some good deals.
BTW they have a G4 @ $799 & a bunch of iMacs @ $459, also a colour Laser 
printer for @750.
