Hi Susan,
Legally he still should have original disks, or at least one, but I
don't
think anyone at Apple really cares up to 8.0.
    I have a set of system 7 disks on 3.5" disks &a 7.6 CD. I keep such
items
around for the older Macs that come to me, or require repairs.
Can you ask what CPUs, Ram, HD, they have etc., then it would be easy to

determine what O/S would be best.
7.55 is good &stable, 7.6 is okay, 8.0 needs to be 8.1, 8.6 is one of
the
best. HTH.
TTFN,
TeeC thanks muchly Tee ... your comments are appreciated and I will check
rethe hardware.

TTFN from cusuen

A long time ago now Tee, in the earlier days of Muglo (not online) and
Erik'sBBS your TTFN prompted me to start using cusuen as my on-line nick of
the time.
