Quite correct Susan. Ta Ta is rather affected upper class version of
goodbye for now, see you later etal. The UK is full of such terms, some
purely cockney rhyming slang, such as "Apples & Pears" = up the stairs. In
my home town the ask "did ya cop ya buz?" = did you catch your bus?
