Mac O/S 10.2.8 is Jaguar, Panther is up to 10.3.9 & Tiger is now to 
10.4.3, hence your problems.
Panther will do what you want, as will Tiger, but a newer Toast 6 would 
too, which is the way I would go.
If you are planning a newer computer soon it would be more economical 
to wait as Tiger will come with all current & future cpus for a while. 
Panther is available on a DVD for $29 US, 47 on CDs, Tiger is $120 or 
so Canadian at your local Apple vendor. HTH.
