[muglo] iChat and iSight

Just wondering if anyone has used either of these?

I have been using Adium for chatting with good success but now woth  
my MacBook with an iSight camera, I thought I would try out iChat and  
iSight which came with the computer.  However some strange things:

1.  When I first tried out the PhotoBooth, it would not work saying  
that there was no camera connected!  So I wondered if there was one  
actually there!  I could find no way of turning it on or connecting  
the iSight camera!
2.  Later I tried out a chat programme, suddenly the camera light  
came on and I found I could use PhotoBooth!!
3.  Again later I found myself back to the first state!! Wondering if  
this means that there is a faulty connection inside or is there some  
software method for turning it on/off?

So much for the camera!

With regards to iChat; I have tried this out using an AOL account  
(not having a .Mac account) and all comes up ok except it does not  
connect with an online Buddy?  I know there is one on because I have  
checked by switching back and forth with Adium; the person is on ok  
with Adium but when I go to the iChat it says the person is off- 
line!!! Is there something else that one has to do to use iChat? I  
assumed that iChat would work well being part of the Mac setup!  Help  
was no help at all and I could not see anything in the System  
Preferences dealing with connecting the internal camera!

I would appreciate any help that anyone can give with either of these  
problems?
