New Macs no longer come with an installed modem so you would have to  
buy an external USB modem to do it.  There are internet based services  
that provide you with a fax number, you e-mail to and they will do the  
faxing for you and then e-mail received messages to you.
It use to be as easy to send a fax as printing a page but receiving  
faxes was always a pain unless you let the computer pick up every call  
and answer it as a fax.
