As Tee says, if you've got a Mac, it's pointless buying a printer of
any kind for its built-in fax capabilities, because you've already got
that in the Mac itself. You just need to plug the Mac into a phone line
and Bob's your uncle.
Whenever you do need a paper printout of a fax (or of anything else,
for that matter), a laser printer is far cheaper than an inkjet in
terms of consumables. They won't give you the same gorgeous photos, but
you can get those from your nearest drugstore photo kiosk.
