Karl:
I have found that a crossover cable (which plugs into the Ethernet posts on
both machines) works best for transferring files from one machine to
another. It's both fast and easy.
On the other hand if you do want to create a network, a couple of weeks ago
FutureShop had a LinkSys 4-port router on sale for "FREE!" (something like
$49.99 with a $20 in-store rebate and $29.00 mail in rebate) all you pay is
the good old taxes... sales tax on something that's free, now there's a
twisted government!
With the router you can also connect your printer (if is has a card or
external box), scanner, etc. This is so easy to do with OS-X, it's almost
too simple.
Cheers,
Garth.
