[muglo] Re: dial-up problems

i have an external 56 k modem. Sometimes PPP connects first time, and 
never at 48 baud, always less, though it always tries to conect at the 
highest possible rate. Consequent connection at lower speeds, or 'speed 
unknown' are successful. Could also be line noise or busy modems at the 
ISP...
