[muglo] dial-up problems

Hi, Iam wondering if anyone has had this problem, and how they solved it.
My internet provider is Primus, and for about the last 3 weeks when I go on
the computer, it sometimes takes about 6 tries before I get connected,
although sometimes it will connect first time. I thought there was something
wrong with my computer, so I took it to the Mostly Mac store to be checked
out. It came back with a clean bill of health, they said the problem had to
be with Primus.
So, I went to Primus, and Iam sure you know what its like, I ended up
talking to three different people, at different times, all trying in their
own way to help me. The third person more or less telling me that he thinks
the problem is with my modem, that it needs to be upgraded, because my
problem is intermittent, or that I should try another provider!!
My computer is an IMac OS 9., So, does anyone have any ideas about this, I
would appreciate any help.
