Just tried that right now with my Mail window, click the green
button and except for the dock, the window fills the screen

Set a keyboard command in 'Keyboard and Mouse' for the Window/Zoom
command?

That can be frustrating. Maybe that one pixel edge is necessary for
the Dock somehow?
