It's a shameful attitude for a NON PROFIT ORGANISATION!!! (it is for
individuals as well)

Hmm. Rather odd!!!

I changed my registrant information (e-mail address on file at CIRA
because I no longer had access to it) while I was in Britain _at no
cost_ to myself. All my registrar required was a fax with a cover
letter and photo ID identifying myself. You should have checked here
first because I'm sure a few of us could have assisted you in this
matter.

PS The reason they require such a strict confirmation process is to
prevent people from high-jacking a domain!

Ah well, I guess that's the problem with 20-20 hind sight ;-).
