That's a lot of power robbed from your computer, which is why almost
all have a seperate power supply. If you want to try the system out I
have a USB drive case, all you need is a HD, which are quite
inexpensive bought seperately. I recommend Cutting Edge on Adelaide
St.S; closed Sun to Tues.
Firewire cases are a little more expensive, but I doubt you would
notice much difference if this is for Back up.
