Nope, I sent it back to the place I got mine from and got a *full* refund
including shipping (shock of shocks).
It turned out that the floppy drive was broken. It wouldn't work on *any* of
the computers I tried (PB G3 Pismo OS 9/X 10.2.6/VPC Win 98 SE, PB G3 Bronze
OS 9, B&W G3 OS 8.6 + Apple's driver, Win 2K, Win 98). The drive would be
recognised by OS 9 (NOT OS X) and by the Win computers but when I went to
format it would crash the Win computers and OS 8.6/9 would have a hissy fit
& reject the disk. I tried to format the disks but in OS 9 it went into a
"fix" the bad sectors mode (I restarted out of patience) and on the Windows
side it would fail the format and then promptly crash the computer (this was
after the drivers had been installed).
I have a feeling that Candy knew that that particular model was bad (some
people had ones that worked but only in limited circumstances). There's a
newer one which supposedly works with Macs & everything else without the
problems of the one you likely have.
L8r, Eric.
