After upgrading to Leopard, I tried to do a backup to my second drive
as usual, with SuperDuper! but the effort failed twice in a row. A
preliminary check showed that 10.5 had swelled my system file so much
that a backup would no longer fit on the partition I'd allotted for it
on the second drive. So reluctantly, I put everything from the other
partition (just photos) onto DVDs, and repartitioned the drive and
tried again to back up the main drive onto it. Failure again. It turns
out that Leopard includes a few kinks that the present SuperDuper!
can't handle, and the next version of it won't be issued for a few
weeks. The old one backs up all documents but can't make a bootable
system copy.
The question is: Is there a way to boot from the Time Machine copies on
the secondary drive? The Help menu gives no information on the point ?
and very little on Time Machine at all, come to that.
Anyone tried it?
