[muglo] Thursday meeting

It's been asked whether the Landon library branch has a policy on
people bringing coffee, cookies and such to meetings there. I finally
got the definitive answer yesterday: they're fine with it. If anyone's
in the mood to be inside baking on such a beautiful day, feel free . .
.
The most important thing to bring Thursday evening is a laptop, if you
have one. There won't be a projector available; the branch has one, but
it costs twice as much to rent as the room does (an argument in favour
of the more distant Westmount branch, if theirs is free). However, if
we have several laptops set up, we can all follow a single demo
simultaneously (Joe Nolan has kindly offered to give us "a little
tap-dance" on iMovie and YouTube) and break into smaller groups later
to delve into some of the other varied interests members have. I'll be
happy to muck about a bit in InDesign and Photoshop with anybody new to
those programs, or equally happy to look on and learn more about them
if someone like Shawn shows up who clearly knows far more.
For those unfamiliar with Wortley Village but interested in hanging out
after the meeting, The Little Red Roaster is just a block north, across
the street, and the Wortley Roadhouse is just a block south, also on
the other side, for something possibly more stimulating than caffeine.
Again, it's tomorrow night, Thursday, downstairs in the OSCO Room of
the Fred Landon library branch, 167 Wortley Rd., between Bruce Street
and Elmwood Avenue. For bus users, two routes go virtually past the
door: the No. 4, Oxford East, and the No. 15, Westmount.
We have the place from 7 till 9, but they'll start getting closing-time
fidgets about 8:30, so we might want to adjourn across the road with
any still-unfinished issues at that point.
(OSCO, by the way, stands for Old South Community Organization. I just
had to ask. Don't you feel better, now that you know?)
See you there.
