Eric,
[start rant]
95% of ALL business users would be MUCH happier with Appleworks
or other similar unenriched, unbloated software. Less frustrating
etc. From a business standpoint why would I want a high priced
executive making $$$$$ spending hrs & hrs getting frustrated with
menu items buried so deep that you shovel for an hour just to
find it or have Word "do it for you". If I wanted each bullet
point starting with a cap I'd do it that way! [end rant]
How many of us are serious word processors anyway. The basics
(and I think AW is far from "basic" even some of the new basic
text editors are not so basic) will do most of us including
business just fine. Yes the program is long in the tooth,
doesn't "look" as nice as the newer ones but hey it works!
I have a collegue who did a complete 250 page manual in CW5.
When the printer asked him what DTP program he used & when told
his jaw dropped. He said it was much better than much of the
stuff he saw from the big expensive programs.
In the end its the output that counts not what you used to get there.
