[muglo] Sympatico and OS X

As some of you know, I have both a Sympatico (Casual) and ISP Canada
(Dog Paddle) dial-up connection--10 hours a month for each.

Because of my Casual connection with Sympatico, I cannot access a lot
of their services, as I require a more expensive package to do so.
For instance, I can't access their Getmail services. Furthermore, I
can't access most of the Sympatico website as I don't have Explorer
or Netscape 6 or 7, or whatever it is they want.

When I went to OS X, I had nothing but problems connecting with
Sympatico. I phoned Sympatico tech support. The first rep was quite
helpful, but then I started to get the runaround from the other reps
and the end result, was they said they didn't support Safari.

Sympatico tech support sent me this "help" email but it wasn't that
helpful either.

I'm still using OS 9 and have no problems connecting with Sympatico
with it, but with OS X, I'm using ISP Canada.

I'm reluctant to totally give up my Sympatico account, because I've
had it for about five years now and it would be a real hassle for me
to switch, as so many people know me with this address.

Ralph and Joan: Can you please elaborate on what you mean about
their connections not being compatible with Mac? Would this include
OS 9 dialup? Could you pls elaborate about this letter that you got?

And Susan: Do you think the same thing might be happening at Rogers?

Pls let me know. Thanks.

Leith
