You're trying to get me all riled up. the "Command key for all you
newbies". <creaky voice> Well let me tell you sohnney. Back when I was
young (literally ;-P), it was called the Command key. It was only when
they invented those ganfangled new ADB keyboards that some silly goose
had the idea to call it an Apple key[1] and since then, confusion has
reigned supreme.

[1] I suspect the Apple key was added to allow the ADB keyboards to be
used on both Apples (the original Apples which had _nothing_ in common
with the Macintoshes... it is quite remarkable that Apple didn't go
bankrupt supporting two completely different architectures... I guess
that's why they have no qualms supporting PPC and i86 now ;-) and
Macs.

I think I've just always been willing to ignore that misbehaviour on
Apple's part (ignorance is bliss, I guess). Time to get Apple to fix
the error of their ways ;-).

PS For anyone else out there who expects "proper" behaviour (i.e. home
goes to start of line/end goes to end of line) from their Home/End
keys... it's possible to reprogram them. Just ask, or look in the
Mac-Canada (lowendmac.net) archives for this past week.

Eric.
