I'm running primarily 10.3.9 now but I did some quick stuff in AW
Classic, OS X Mail and OS X Textedit. Home and End take me to the
beginning of the document or the end of the document BUT leaves the
cursor where it was.

Normally when I go to the beginning of the line or the end of the line
I use open-Apple (the Command key for all you newbies) and either the
left or right arrow key. This MOVES the cursor from its current point
to either the end or beginning of the line. Up and Down have a similar
action MOVING the cursor to the top & bottom of the document
respectively. Using the old solid-apple key (now called Option) allows
you to move to the end of the word or start of the word and top of
paragraph or end of paragraph. I just tried them out in this message
and they do the same thing here.

Methinks Eric you have a unique OS X!

I have used these commands from my Apple ][e (AW 2 - 5) days and they
still do the same thing.

Martin
