Hi Greg,
My advice would be: YES. If you don't somebody else will. One thing  
you'd want to do though is get more RAM for it. 256mb is hardly  
enough anymore.

Is this a private sale? Or is it through a reseller/retailer?

If it ends up you don't go ahead with it, let me know because I know  
a young lady that would like to jump in to the world of Apple as  
well. She'd prefer a Powerbook, but this iBook would do her just fine  
too.
