[muglo] September 16 Meeting - 7pm

We have several people who have iPhones who can talk about its
features and concerns. Amongst our midst are those who have/had
Blackberries and iTouches to compare and contrast them.

What value/advantages are there to Text Messaging? What does it cost
per month? How good is the GPS? Does it play AM/FM? How good is the
camera? Does the MP3 play back in stereo? Are there any good games on
it? How does one conserve battery power?

In addition, one member will demonstrate how he "tethers" his iPhone
to the internet, allowing him wireless access anywhere.

A short demo to cover some of the advantages of Time Machine, Time
Capsule and SuperDuper.

There will be a talk will be on what the new software will mean to the
iPod Touch.

A member had asked if someone might be able to discuss the use of
Automator and of the Actions palette in
CS3, and the possibilities of interaction between the two systems. So
far - no responses ... Can anyone field that at the next meeting?

Hope you can all come out and ask your questions. Do you know what
Kaboodle is, and how it could be useful? What about Bonjour? What is
"Cuil"?

One of our members has a Kindle. Hope you will bring it to show others.

OK, so who's gonna show? And what are you bringing to the party?
Information? Ideas? Support? A room full of lurkers sounds too creepy
to me. So bring something to contribute. How about a list of
interesting or helpful websites? What about a game you enjoy on the
computer. What cautions can you share about phishing, viruses, spam?

Those who don't join us after the meetings at William's Coffee Pub are
missing a vital part of the evenings. Much sharing of ideas and "how
to's" carries on after the library. Do plan on attending that too.
