[muglo] Scanner Question

I am looking for a scanner to work with 35mm slides and up to 4"X6"
negatives as well as reflective photos.  A couple that seem to fit the bill
are the Microtek 8700 and the UMax 2199Xl. Any type of connection is
suitable.
Does anyone have experience with these scanners or a different
recommendation?
