Mac users did get together before MUGLO.
LMUG was active before MUGLO. LMUG (London Mac User Group) was a
registered Mac group that went belly up. When we were forming and
eventually registered MUGLO, we attempted to contact LMUG ececutive
to get information etc. from them and they were not very helpful to
say the least. There was money in their bank account that was
eventually taken by the bank for inactive fees. To my way of
thinking this did not speak well of Mac users and is conveniently
forgotten. This led to some of the tears Joan talked about.
Somewhere in about that time there was a group of Mac users at
Western as well but these were mainly engineering students, if memory
serves me correctly, and I don't think they were ever registered as a
Mac user group.
Thanks Joan for keeping MUGLO history alive.
As I remember things London Apple Corps was not very helpful when we
were forming MUGLO but that may have been because LMUG had some
connection with The Apple Corps.
