Thanks, Doug, for deciphering the error message I was getting. It
appears I went over the limit in terms of quoting from Theresa's
email. So, I will not quote her email at all and hopefully now my
response to her question from earlier this morning will go through to
the list. Here goes:
***
Theresa: I am very glad you raised this matter, as I am looking for
a better way to record phone conversations in relation to my
freelance work. I have done some research into this in terms of Mac
compatible devices, but need to do more.
I've heard that Olympus makes a DS-2 recording device that sells for
about $130 US. It has a built-in stereo mike, 22 hours recording,
and "PC link to email, edit or archive." As I understand it, you can
buy a kit to go with it that is Mac compatible, at additional cost.
I believe it includes a transcription pedal. Dragon Naturally
Speaking is the name of the software, I think.
I don't recommend going the route of regular (not mini) tape
recorders and audiocassettes. They are being phased out and I have
concerns about the quality of both.
Please keep me in the loop as to what you learn.
Thanks,
Leith
