[muglo] Re: Receiving faxes via computer

I have Sympatico dial-up as high speed/DSL is not available rurally.
(Neither is Rogers or Union Gas!). The reason for the second line is that I
need to be online all the time so one line would not do.

You say, a fax is no different than a phone call. I do believe that DSL
rides on the same line as voice transmission so I can be online with DSL and
receive a voice call on the same line.

Actually, the question I am asking is whether the computer will accept
incoming faxes through the modem when it is concurrently accessing the
internet through the same modem. I cannot send a fax through the modem if it
is in use at the same time accessing the internet. I have to get off line
first, then send the fax.

Any ideas?
