[muglo] Re: Problems with G3

Now that OS X is at 10.3 you'll find a *lot* of people are dumping their
10.2 disks on eBay for a song. Check out the prices and you should be able
to pick one up for not too much (also, join the LowEndMac.net "for sale"
lilst and if people don't list 10.2 disks, put out a request for one). 10.2
will run well on all G3s/G4s except for the first G3 PowerBook (3400?).

PS The 266 will be able to handle up to 10.2.8 and that's a stable OS! What
I mean with stable is crash-proof. OS 9 regularly requires the 3-finger
salute. If OS X requires a three-finger salute it means either (a) you've
got low-quality hardware (usually cheap RAM but sometimes CPU) or (b) you've
installed beta software or a kernel extension (which aren't as destablising
as extensions/control panels in OS 9 but can on occasion wreak havoc)).

PSS No, I don't actually have a deep rooted hatred for OS 9. Now that I'm
used to a crash-proof/crash-free OS I just don't like running an OS that is
temperamental and takes everything down on a regular basis (& loses work).
