Doug, and let me add that one of the reasons I choose to partition my  
drive is that I can defrag this or that smaller volume to avoid  
having to sit for hours while a 160 gig volume would churn away  
endlessly.

I am presently converting a DVD project containing 1067 slides to the  
PAL system. I would not begin to burn and invite failure caused by  
excessive fragmentation.
