We upgraded our Canon camera and are thinking of getting a dedicated
printer. I looked at the small Canon Selphy printers. The CP720 is on
sale right now for around $90.00. There is also the 510, 520 and 730.
However the paper cassette is worth half the price of the printer and
it only prints around 100 prints. It ends up costing around 40 cents
per print.
But there is the big sales pitch that the Canon technology with
protective overcoating is so much better than using regular photo
paper.
Is this really a good idea? I can get prints made elsewhere for around
20 cents. But I live out in the boonies and that isn't always
convenient. Is the technology worth the extra?
Has anyone had any experience with any of these?
