[muglo] Photoshop Elements 4.0 Query

I am curious to know if there is an equivalent to the old elastic  
lasso that one could use to draw around an object and the lasso would  
then click to the shape as an elastic band would do?  I find that  
there is a Magnetic Lasso which I suspect might do it but when I  
tried it, it didn't seem to be very good; also there is a polygonal  
lasso which may be better?  Maybe it just takes practice!!  I want to  
select a few pictures of peoples heads from more complex pictures!   
Any one help here would be appreciated?
