Actually it was isp.ca that ordered the service call and it was Bell
that "lost" the transfer order! (They actually admitted it!!!!)

See Above. I had service for 3 days with isp after my contract with
Sympatico expired and it took over a month, 4 emails & two phone calls
to get to that stage.

No. If you provider is offering the same service, ie: Dial up to Dial
up, DSL to DSL, they simply transfer the line to your service provider,
it's actually less work for them.
I went to isp.ca because they offer the same sevice for $10 less a
month, because you can use your own modem. In my case I bought a ADSL
"GNet" Modem/Router with print server for $107 in London which works
great.
