Hi Alex,
I agree with your sentiments. I am and always will be an electric appliance
user. I have an electric (rechargeable) mower; my next door neighbour was so
impressed with the low noise & high efficiency of my previous corded mower, he
just bought it off me. I have electric hedge clippers, chain saw, whipper
snipper, leaf blower/vacuum, & an electric heat pump coupled with an electric
furnace. I'm allergic to natural & coal gas & dislike the danger of storing gas
for mowers etc.
As to gas gusslers, SUV drivers are definitely the worst, although Caddy
drivers come a close second. Of course if we had a reasonably efficient,
inexpensive Bus service we would all be better off.

Toronto also has a Bus/Subway system that works! Bikes are great, but riders
also need to follow the rules of the road. How many times have you seen bikes on
the sidewalk, going the wrong way on a one way street, having no lights, or even
reflectors etc. I've never seen a cop pull a bicycle rider over for an
infraction, even when it happened in front of them!

My choice would be a perennial garden, but I agree with the sentiments.
I also do my bit by recycling old Apple computers, Apple // to Macs &
software. I ship all over the world with many requests for parts/software no
longer made.
