Has anyone used Pacifist 2.0? According to the CharlesSoft website,
Pacifist is a "shareware application that opens Mac OS X .pkg files,
.dmg disk images...and allows you to extract individual files and
folders out of them. This is useful, for instance, if an application
which is installed by the operating system beomes damaged and needs
to be reinstalled without the hassle of reinstalling all of Mac OS X.
Pacifist is also able to verify existing installations and find
missing or altered files, and Pacifist can also examine the kernel
extensions..."
It works with OS 10.2 or higher, including Tiger, and got five mice
from MacWorld.
I was having a problem with my Safari 1.3.2 in OS 10.3.9, and someone
suggested Pacifist to me as one possible solution. I solved the
problem just by deleting the preferences and restarting. However, I
though it might be useful if I ran into a problem with an individual
application where a simple solution didn't work.
Please advise. Thanks.
Leith
