[muglo] PC emulator, importing files

For reasons beyond my control, I now find it necessary to make
use of a program running on a PC. I have a pal who uses Virtual
PC on his Mac, and he is willing to assist me.

Things are going well, I thought, until I find it necessary to
move import a file onto his virtual PC. The problem is that
the application running under the Virtual PC does not recognize
(a) the file on the USB drive, (b) the file on the Desktop, and
(c) the file if it is in the Documents folder.

The PC emulator seems to know about something it calls "My Documents"
and also about "My Desktop". However, if I but the file in the
"Desktop"
or in the "Documents" folder of OS X, it does not show up in the
"My Desktop" or "My Documents" folder!

I have the thought that the files that can be addressed by the
Virtual PC is limited to some segregated area set aside only for
the use of the Virtual PC.

Question: How do I import this file? We are using OS 10.4, if that
makes a difference.
