[muglo] Office 2004 and G4 Tower

I have Microsoft Office 2004 installed on my G3 laptop, but am having
trouble with the installation on my G4 Grey/White Tower (AGP
graphics). I just added an 80 gig hard drive, so it's not a space
issue. I'm running 10.3.9.

The system requirements say that Office 2004 should be installed on a
G3 or higher. Does that rule out my G4?

I have gone on the Mactopia website, and have looked around for an
answer, but it's been an experience in frustration. I've checked to
see if I need an update through the Office installer, but the update
I apparently need does not download. When I go to the Mactopia
website, I don't see it listed:

Microsoft Autoupdater 1.1.2 2004/11/09 926k

I do not have any previous version of Office installed, but I keep
getting this message:

"Upgrade verification--this software is an upgrade to an earlier
version of the software. To continue installation, click Browse and
then select the folder that contains the earlier version of the
software...."

It wants me to select software which doesn't exist.

Then there's a message that comes up saying that if I get this
message in error, I'm to contact Microsoft. One of the support
options is via Net Passport, but past experience has shown that
trying to get set up with Net Passport is a pain and I've never been
able to sign up. I don't have a hotmail account.

I'm now in the process of trying to sign up for a Office 2004 Google
Group, but then I thought maybe some of you smart people will know
the answer. Maybe it's a waste of time trying to install this on a
G4?

Please let me know. Thanks.

Leith
