[muglo] (OT) Re Homesickness !

(OT) Re Homesickness !

I sympathise with your feelings, Teresa , and with Tee's comments also.

I too have felt them, partic when in Aus. and continue to feel them
after 40 years from leaving my birthplace. But then I'm shaken out of
my 'Masterpiece Theatre' nostalgia by facing the sad reality of what
Britain has degenerated into - ( perhaps without a visit back, that 's
being too judgemental?) I get my impressions from talking with other
expats, reading the UK newspapers on line or such books as the
following, which I can strongly recommend:

The Abolition of Britain - by Peter Hitchens

Life at the Bottom - the Worldview that makes the Underclass - by
Theodore Dalrymple

Still a Brit at heart ?? !! :-)

Cheers
