I'm not sure you can get direct to DVD from Betamax. I suspect
there'll be a few intermediate steps. I cast around a while back for
conversions from Mini8 to DVD. Stan C. Reade did it, but they had to
send it off to Toronto.
Virginia at manatee Video could give you some idea about getting it
done locally. <www.manateevideo.com> It's the intermediate steps that
will cost money and time.
I tracked down a converter box on the web, at that time. It was about
$300 US.
