I don't think the 4L will work in OS8/9... this is not a postscript 
printer, and when you actually go to the download page for the 
drivers, it does not list the 4L (just the 4ML, which was the mac, 
postscript version of this printer)

I'm certain it will work in X; now if I can just get a cheap 
usb-parallel cable, I'm set. I tried the parallel/serial thing, but 
the X drivers dont see serial. (I wish X incorporated serial better, 
I have so many serial things)
Apparently $60 is the going retail price for these cables, what a 
rip. I'm waiting till friday, one place said they may have them for 
$15... dont really believe that tho, will wait and see.
