[muglo] OSX Help

 Thanks, Tee. Tuaw.com can be a helpful site even for old hands. I hadn't known 
about it before. A quick look just now through some of its other pages reminded 
me of a couple of very useful shortcuts which I'd noted when they first came 
out but which I hadn't immediately adopted into my working patterns and had 
subsequently forgotten. I expect that a more careful survey will reveal a ton 
of other tricks and tweaks that I ought to have been aware of long since. 

Speaking of tips, here's one from me:
I've been on the verge of asking for MUGLO members' help on restoring the green 
Time Machine icon on my Time Machine volume, which was unexpectedly replaced 
last week by the same orange Firewire icon as on my SuperDuper! backup volume. 
I had tried all the usual old cut-and-paste routines to no avail. Then today I 
was dismayed to find I'd accidentally trashed my daily journal file, and when I 
went to restore it from Time Machine, it wasn't there either. The reason it 
wasn't there was also the reason why Time Machine's icon had  disappeared: I'd 
turned the damned program off! 
I'd only meant to tweak something or other and turn it right back on, but 
somehow got distracted and forgot.
The lesson is that if Time Machine doesn't look like itself, it's not on. 
Should have been obvious, maybe, but it wasn't; took me 10 days to figure it 
out. Maybe this'll save somebody else from the same mistake.
