[muglo] Re: OS9 B&W slowdown: a plot?

the slowness in OS9xx is: text input seems to 'lag' between what is 
typed and when it appears on-screen... only every few words... and I 
don't type incredibly fast... My clone tower (G3 upgraded) is _much_ 
faster in OS9xx than the B&W

Also, web pages and .pdf documents get a 'delayed' scrolling... as 
in, there is a time 'lag' bewteen hitting the scroll button, and 
anything actually scrolling. This is on the B&W (in 9xx), whereas my 
tower clone is much faster.

Thing is, once the B&W is running X, even in classic mode, these same 
apps and functions do not have this 'time lag'/slowness issue.

I have tried OS9xx with both a usb pro keyboard/mouse , and adb 
combos.  No difference. I got a tip (off the G-list!) that maybe the 
zip drive and /or zip extension was causing the slowdown, but even 
completely removing the drive (and extension) makes no real 
difference.

It is strange. Esp bc the same apps that are slow in 9xx are zippy in 
OSX classic.
